I called our children this morning at 7:23. It is now 8:03 am and Randy is still on the phone. Thank goodness for global calling; with that it is cheaper to talk to Russia than south Georgia!! At 7:23 am it was 8:23 pm in Irakutz. Clay was speaking very quietly, he said the care takers told them to have Evan in the bed by 8:30. I will back up just alittle...Melanie and I took Clay and Brandi to the airport Monday morning. We had them there at 4:15 am. They landed in New York at 8:30 am. Kirsten's parents picked them up and they toured the city. Kirsten, tell your parents what a joy that was for them. They had a wonderful time. When they left New York that night it began an eventful journey. More lay overs than expected. From Moscow to Irakutz, alittle disturbance on the plane. Just alittle scary when an intoxicated person is running up the isle on a rinky dink plane yelling things in a language that you don't understand. When they landed the person meeting them was an hour late getting there. But all is well and God is good. Back to today...The care takers have been telling Evan for three days that Ma Ma and Pa Pa were coming to get him in a car. The kids were outside playing when they drove up. Evan came running to the "car". He was just alittle hesitant of Ma Ma and Pa Pa. It took Evan a while to warm up to them. Which is very understandable. They only got to stay at the Baby Home for 45 minutes so they did not get to see Nathan and Anika. They are going to ask if they can go back and spend so time there to take videos and pictures. This is very important to them, Debbie and Kirsten have been a life saver with the updates on Evan. ( Debbie and Kirsten are the moms in the U.S. ) At the apartment... Evan does not want to use his "pot". He would not eat much today. "Baca" means "Bye" - he would go to the door and say "baca" , so you know that Clay and Brandi had tears in the background. But, you know the only time that Evan has been out of the Baby Home was for that week last April when Brandi and Clay were there. He is in a very strange place, it will not take him long. He can't help but feel the vibrations of love coming toward him. He is clinging to Brandi, you know that mama thing is really something!! Coming from a mom...Evan does not relate Brandi and Clay to Ma Ma and Pa Pa in the picture book. The caretakers have been reading him the book that Brandi sent. If Clay or Brandi ask him where is Ma Ma and Pa Pa he will get his book and show them. Duh!!! He is a smart little one, and of course he is, he is my grandson! They older children in the Baby Home are upstairs. If they show him a picture of Wesley he will point to the ceiling...he is upstairs. He cried when it was bed time so Brandi and Clay laid down with him. He does not have a toddler bed in the apartment which he used to, it is a baby bed. Brandi was not sure whether to put him in the baby bed since he was now asleep or let him sleep with them. I told her to put him in the baby bed, but if he cried .. let him sleep with them. So what, he needs to feel very secure. I will call them back tonight and update later. Thank you for your prayers and please continue.

OH My!!! The tears are pouring just imagining what you guys are feeling! Children create such powerful emotions...and this of course is an amazing story! Listen...O'Neil still sleeps with us quite a bit...because I didn't want to let her go during a terrible virus when she was a baby! And I absolutely loved it! And with me being away at work..all the time with her is wonderful! So..you let him in there with you if you want! The cuddling and bonding as you are sleeping is amazing! Of course we did "better" with Fleming..no more room in the bed!! I am sososososo happy for you guys! And Lisa...keep us posted! thanks..Jenn
How amazing. Please remember that God is going to take care of you all and he will help Evan remember you both. Like your mom said this is new to him again and this to shall pass. Im sure he can feel so much love from you guys and he knows he is in loving hands. I do hope you all have an amazing time together and I just can't wait for yall to come back and let Ella and Evan play together. Like Jennifer said you cuddle as much as possible and Like your mom said if he cries you go ahead and put him in that bed with yall. Ella still gets in bed with us and oooo how I treasure it. We are all praying and thinking about you daily. Can't wait for another update. The Mercer's

We are so glad to hear that you are reunited with Evan. You have been in our thoughts almost constantly. We will e-mail you in a day or so to give you directions to additional eating places and the mall. We hope and trust that things continue to go well.
