Diapers and Formula...oh my!!

Unbelievable is the first word that comes to mind when I think aobut how fast we go through a pack of diapers and a container of formula!!

Just over a month ago we received an anonomus gift on our frount porch. It was a jumbo pack of diapers and a box of wipes wrapped in pretty baby paper. I've been meaning to post here just to say how thankful and EXCITED we were to find it in case it was someone who reads our blog.

Thanks to everyone who gave us diapers as gifts we are now buying diapers and realize now more than ever what a great gift they are. It's a shocker for sure on how fast we go through them. When we first got home we had to buy premiee diapers and now our babies have grown to size 2!!

Formula seems to amaze me even more than diapers, I guess b/c of the price. When the babies were around a month old we had to swithch both of them to Enfimil's Nutramigin Formula due to what the doctor believes is a milk allergy. Nutramigin equals big bucks!! The cheapest place to buy it that we've found is Wal-mart and it's just under $26 there...THAT'S FOR THE SMALL SIZE CAN!!! We go through a can every 2 days! And sometimes more now that the babies are eating more. We spend about $100 a week on formula alone for the babies! So Enfimil coupons are always welcome at our hoem! We get so excited everytime we get one in the mail or from a friend who no longer needs them!

We had such a God moment with Formula back in February when I hit a deer in the van. I was really bummed about the cost and kept reminding me that, that is why we have insurance. Our deductible was $200 and kept making the comment to everyone, "Well, that's $200 worth of formula." At the time we weren't getting any coupons so I called Enfimil to ask to be added to their mailing list for possible coupons. The girl asked me which formula that we were using and I explained ot her that this was our 3rd Enfimil brand and that we had twins. She put me on hold and came back and said that she was sending us a case of formula, and really I thought okay, sure, but didn't expect to get more than a sample can. About a week later we received a whole case...about $190 worth of formula.

I wanted to post this here to remind myself that God does provide and it was very evident in the anonymous diapers and formula from Enfimil. I need to remember than very often especially on days like today when I had a Wal-mart checkout for $200 and it was all formula!!

Does your doctor's office give you samples when you take the kids in? I remember getting a can each time from them... And I also sometimes waiting to change JJ's diaper until a doctor appt as they always had some there! :)

Brandi-
My name is Jennifer Benton Kelly. I went to high school with Clay. I live in Macon, GA now, but my parents still live in Covington.
I have some Enfamil coupons (my 5 month old is on Similac's version of Nutramagin, so I feel your pain from the $$$ of formula) that I am not using and can give to you.
Email me at jenbkelly@earthlink.net with your mailing address if you are interested and I'll send them to you.

Hi Brandi. I know you don't remember me. I worked at Oak Hill with you. Jennifer Sealy's friend Melissa. I am in your mom's Sunday school class. I feel your pain also. My son had alot of trouble with formula when he was little and we had to use the expensive brand of Similac. I always got alot of samples from the doctors office. I will keep my eyes open for coupons and give them to your mom if I have any. Good luck and I enjoy reading your blog.

Hey! I understand we are now on Nutramigin, but we were on elecare which was $40 a can which would be what you were spending. If you go to Kroger its usually the same and you earn points when you get 200 you get $10 off just a thought we started doing that! I am waiting for coupons now :)I hope you are doing good your babies are precious! Brandy Rowe
