Elijah had another seizure today. He was totally fine, I put him down for a nap and we woke up crying after about 30 minutes. I went up to give him his pacifier and he felt a little warm. Ella woke up and since Elijah didn't feel well, I got her out of the bed too. I immediately went downstairs and took his temperature and it was 101.6. In the short time that it took me to get the Motrin, he felt even hotter so I started a bath.
Of course, Ella wanted to get in too so I asked Evan if he wanted to get in. So all three kids in the tub. While I was bathing them, Elijah sort of rolled over, I just though he slipped a little bit, and lost his balance, he was sort of sitting on one hip so I grabbed his arm to help him up. When I did that, he didn't sit up and I noticed that his body felt heavy. I turned him towards me and saw that his eyes looked like they were rolled back in his head. I grabbed him and about that time he started to seize. I grabbed the phone out of my pocket and called 911, grabbed Ella out of the tub and put her on the floor. Clay's Dad was outside cutting grass so I sent Evan to get him to watch Ella. (Sweet Evan, so concerned about Elijah ran outside totally naked...Thank you sweet Evan)
I laid Elijah on his side and watched him seize for a couple of minutes then he started to come out of it...I kept talking to him to keep him awake. Once the EMTs were on their way and Elijah had stopped seizing, I called our pediatrician. He told me to bring Elijah in after the EMTs left.
Dr. Doud checked him and could not find any signs of an infection. When we went to Egleston, 2 weeks ago the doctor said that he had an ear infection and gave him antibiotics. We finished the antibiotics yesterday. Dr. Doud seems to think that whatever is causing him to have seizures was being treated to a certain degree, by the antibiotics since he ran a fever and had a seizure the day after he stopped the antibiotics.
In the morning, we will take a urine sample to see if he has some type of urinary infection.
Please keep our little guy in your prayers.
