Fairy House

Yesterday, I didn't put the babies down for nap until after Evan got home from school so that we
could have some quality time together. The day before he we were all outside and he found a piece of bark laying on the ground and said that we could use that to build a fairy house. Apparently, the librarian at school had read a book to them about building fairy houses. Gran Don (our neighbor and Clay's uncle) showed us a tree that needs to be cut down that we could get plenty of bark from. Evan said that you can only use items from nature to make the houses but the mushrooms that we on the cover of this months Family Fun Magazine were just too cute not to make and I thought they would be great for this project. He agreed when I told him that I thought fairies liked mushrooms. Evan designed the enire house and carefully laid out the pieces so that the door opening would be just above the rock pathway.

A magical tour of an entire village of fairy houses will take place this weekend in Newton County, just behind the library, at the future home of Chimney Park. Other than the tour, visitors will enjoy story telling and music. Visitors are asked to bring their own gathered materials from nature to make their own fairy house. It should be a great day, one filled with lots of magic. For more details visit... Chimney Park Fairy House Tour
