Man did Lisa steel my thunder. i couldn't wait to get down here and update the blog, and i actually got away from brandi and evan long enough to do it, and my mother-in-law had already updated it. anyway, this morning at just after 3am georgia time, a judge half way across the world was adding to our family. she reached across her table and called brandi mama, and me papa, and made us promise to always love, and never harm evan. no problem there. we went to a pleasant dinner with some of the people who god used to make this miracle happen. they congratulated us over and over. we then got back to the apartment some time between five and six in the morning your time, and i called my mom and dad. they were just like any other grandparents hearing about their grandson, pretty excited, and i think a sensed some tears. brandi talked with lisa, and as i've already complained about, she blogged to everyone. randy and wes were probably still snoozing, but we love all of you and can't wait to get home. all the positive comments have really been great, and we definitely felt every one of your prayers as we sat in that courtroom today. our apartment mates, the schattes are next, and their prayers are coming more from the northeast (pennsylvania), but send some prayers their way next week. They go to court at 2pm on the 21st, so that will be just after midnight wednesday georgia time. their faith and encouragement gave brandi and i a sense of peace as we went through our crazy time.

anyway, now the ten day waiting period starts, afterwhich we can begin preperation of evan's travel papers. we should be heading for moscow two weeks from saturday, so we've still got a haul. but now it is official, denis didenko became a hodges on april 15th 2005. praise god.
