Today was our first day as an official day as "forever family"! We had a great day. The three of us went for a long walk to the river and Evan had so much fun. We were very brave and took Evan outside without his snowsuit. We don 't mind the looks so much anymore now that he is ours!!! We had a very walk down to the river and he loved the birds. Evan is such a joy. Waking up with him this morning had a whole new meaning. We have waited so long for this day and praise the Lord it has come! Life is great in the Hodges family. It is so amazing how God works. We have a beautiful picture that I took standing on our deck of a rainbow over the lake. I brought the picture with us I didn't know why at the time but I now know it was to remind us of God's promise to bring Evan home to us. It gave us such comfort before our court date.
Kirsten, Do you know of a church that we could go to Sunday? I thought maybe if your missionary friends are here they could help us out. Call me.

Brandi, Clay and Evan, What a wonderful day and I can't wait to see the whole Hodges family. Congratulations!!!!!!!! Christine and I are so excited and can't wait to spend the summer with yall. God is good all the time and we never can give him enough praise and glory. We are continuing to pray for yall and for your your journey back to the USA. Much Love jen and christine
This was and should be a very private moment for the three of you. But, man I wish I was there. I can just visualize the Hodges Family walking by the river. I know Evan had so much fun. I can only try to imagine the setting. The Lord has so truely blessed all three of you. Wesley opened his gift from you last night. It was the two guns that shoot the nurf bullets. He has had a ball. And wanting to know when you guys are coming home. I don't know which one will be the happiest to see you..Me or Wesley !! Will be a close race!!
Now..Clay

People could not wait for the news with the time difference. I am glad that I am on the other side of the glode if you were mad at me !! You know it didn't last long. I am your favorite M-I-L. Clay, Brandi, & Evan:
It has taken me this long to figure out how to communicate with you and even now i'm not too sure. If you do get this, just know that I join all the rest who are so proud for you and of all 3 of you. I hope you can all feel all the prayers for you. Can't wait til you are safely back in the USA.

Clay and Brandi,
We are so glad that things are going well. You will be home before you know it.
By the way, I don't know if I have mentioned this or not, but Moscow (and the Embassy) will be a breeze: nothing to it. It is very laid back and uneventful. Basically, you will turn your paperwork in, and a worker (an American) will interview you. With our experience, the worker basically just wanted to know about our experience, and then gave a few instructions on how to get Ana-Grace's social security card once returning home.
I say all of this just to say, "All will be a breeze from this point forward." You will go soon and have Evan's passport made, but otherwise, you will just sit and wait to leave.
We are looking very forward to meeting Evan, and again, we are estactic that things are going well.
Sincerely,
Rodney Stephens
Sorry, Brandi! I just read your question and it's already Sunday afternoon your time. Will you be there next Sunday, too? Alex and Andrew attend a church there, as do our missionary friends. I'll e-mail them and ask them which one. FYI, their names are Lee and Sandy Young and their phone number is 34-02-64. How wonderful to hear about your precious first day together as an official family of three!
Love,
Kirsten
p.s. any word yet from Alex about May court dates?
