Blue Ribbon Foods, Before, After

BEFORE....

AFTER...
Yippee!! We got our reorder yesterday from the food company that we buy from. I don't think there is anyone who doesn't already know about the food company that we purchase from, but I'll explain in-case you don't. We purchase food from a company called Blue Ribbon Foods.

There are several reasons why we choose to get our food from Blue Ribbon.

*We only make food purchases about every 6 or 7 months, so that keeps me, whose super busy with three kids, out of the grocery store a lot more. Thus, saving me lots of time.

*It's delivered, unpacked, and loaded into our freezer by Blue Ribboon.

*It is so convenient, all I have to do is run out to the garage and grab whatever we want to have for dinner. Everything is vacuum sealed so it is super easy and fast to thaw out, just run it under water. Again, thus saving me time.

*Everything is flash frozen, keeping it as fresh as it was the day that it was made.

*The most important reason for me, is in the quality of the foods. You can't buy meat this healthy in the grocery store. The meats that we eat from Blue Ribbon Foods are corn-fed and farm raised and are chemically purer than what you can buy in the grocery store. They contain no growth hormones, no chemicals, no preservatives, no dyes and no artificial colorings. I can feel good about what I'm feeding my family and don't have to worry about what else we're eating along with the meat.

*Along with our meat, also came tons of yummy organic fruits and veggies, some super yummy pies, and cheesecakes, and some already prepared gourmet meals, like Chicken Cordon Blue.

In case you're wondering the prices actually come out a little bit better than what I would spend at the grocery store.

If you are interested in finding out more, let us know and I can give you Warren's phone number. If you decide to make an appointment, make sure that you mention us as for referring you, we then get a $100 credit and you get free meat!!

Chemical Threat in Plastics?

A couple of other issues have been getting to me too.

The whole organic thing, and have you heard all of the latest press about the research that has been done on plastics that are used in items such as baby bottles?

As for the organic thing, I do feel very comfortable about the meat that I feed my family. Since all of our meat is purchased from BlueRibbionFoods I know that no growth hormones, chemicals, preservatives, dyes or colorings are included in my meats and it's all corn-feed. I also try to buy organic whenever possible. I just found out this week that their are certain foods that you use never pass up the chance to buy organic. Some of the foods are raisins, grapes, peanut butter, strawberries, rice and potatoes because they hold on to more of the pesticides than others. Rinsing them with water, by the way, doesn't remove any of the pesticides. You can make your own homemade veggie/fruit cleaner by using lemon juice, vinegar, baking soda. Recipe

Okay, the plastics thing... Many plastics include Bisphenol A (BPA) which many scientists say can cause harmful effects when it leaks into the products or formula inside. Almost all plastic products contain BPA, which is why many companies are phasing it out. Dr. Brown's now just released a BPA FREE bottle, which we bought from Babies R Us last night to replace all of our polycarbonate bottles.

According to WebMd, both Wal-mart and Babies R Us have announced that they will be phasing out the bottles that contain BPA. WebMd For more information on BPA click here. And for the full study visit environmentcalifornia. There is news that Canada is even considering banning the use of BPA in plastics.

I know I'm probably overreacting here both on the organic issue and the plastics issue; however, when it comes to my family, I'd rather be safe than sorry. It really scares me to think of all the harmful things that I am putting into my family's bodies, so again safe than sorry.
